One-way.

I just booked my final flight to South Africa. It was an odd feeling to book a one-way ticket. it’s getting real now. Sage is scheduled to launch on July 11th, 2022. After that she will undergo sea trials and setup with the Balance team before the official hand over to me. I plan on cruising in South Africa for a bit and then making the crossing to the Caribbean in September.

Dave and Courtney, on hull #1, UMOYA, are halfway across the Atlantic Ocean today. They are on St. Helena, and probably getting ready to depart. You can see their progress on their tracker. I will be following a similar route, and will post a tracker when I leave.

I’m really looking forward to going to South Africa again. The team at Balance is very helpful and welcoming. They are proud of their country. They love showing off the amazing features of the Cape area!

I’m also planning to go an another safari out to Simbavati Hilltop Lodge, which was a wonderful (if a little expensive) trip last time. Because of Covid, Dave, Courtney, and I had the whole place to ourselves. I don’t expect that to be the case this time, as South Africa has done well in the latest Covid surges and they will be very busy.

Lot’s to see at Simbavati Hilltop Lodge

Before I leave I have so much to do. I have to ship a lot of boxes to Balance for moving aboard. I have to make inquiries about insurance. So many more things. I’m excited, and a little overwhelmed, but it feels good. Till next time, best to you all!
