Departure Day

Yesterday while I went around to clear the boat out of the Marina, the crew did a provisioning run. 10 shopping carts full of food were loaded, purchased, and brought back to the boat. We spend the evening stashing things in appropriate corners, layering for ease of retrieval. We will not starve.

Hammocks of fruit and veggies in the cockpit

We still have to go to immigration, fill the water tanks, fill the fuel tanks, stow the spare anchor, have a final breakfast ashore, pick up a few more rusks and some fresh vegetables… etc.

In addition there are a few things that Balance needs to finish up. We keep finding little bits of course, but at some point we take ownership and let it go.

Will we be out by the target of Noon? Find out by checking the tracker at

This Blog will be suspended during the passage, but we will be updating the PredictWind blog daily (maybe). The boat’s email is sage@myiridium.net, and we’d love to hear from you, but it is limited to text only, so please use our regular emails for your cat videos (ERIC!).

See you on the other side!
